I can’t hear any BART Alert Tones when using my Apple Watch

Problem

When wearing an Apple Watch, I can’t hear any Alert Tones – either on my watch or phone.

  

Solution

You are only able to receive BART notifications on either your iPhone or Apple watch not both. Despite our best efforts we don’t have a solution to this issue at present. 

If you have mirroring turned on your Apple Watch it will make a low volume ding when you receive a notification. The watch notification tone can be easily missed therefore our recommendation is to turn mirroring off on your watch and receive notifications on your iPhone.

 

We are currently working on the BART Apple Watch application to improve both functionality and user experience. At this time we are limited to the functionality offered by Apple, however we’re actively looking at future solutions.

As a work-around, we recommend that our Members turn off the Apple Watch Mirroring function so that Alerts are still audible on the phone:

 

  1. Open the ‘Watch’ app on your iPhone

  2. Navigate to ‘Notifications’

  4. Use the toggle provided to switch off mirroring for the BART app
