BART Team App Data Usage

Overview

This article provides guidance on expected data usage for your brigade, group or unit using the BART application, including ways to manage and limit data usage both generally and while traveling.

Expected Data Usage

  • For a typical group or brigade of 50 members receiving around 15 calls per month, the average data usage is approximately 90 MB per month.

  • If your group frequently attaches images or other media to calls or messages, data usage may vary significantly depending on the size and quantity of these attachments.

  • Although the application generally does not consume large amounts of data, it’s important to be aware of potential usage.

Please Note: The BART App provides for end-users to minimise data usage through options that can be found in settings. For example, ‘Image Preview’.

 

Managing Data Usage

General Advice

If you wish to reduce data usage while traveling or in areas with limited connectivity, you can turn off data usage.

Disclaimer: Disabling data usage may limit app functionality. Remember to re-enable data usage when you’re back at home or in a Wi-Fi area to ensure full app performance.

 

Turning Off All Mobile Data While Traveling

Apple iOS

  1. Open the Settings app.

  1. Use the toggle to switch off Mobile Data.

  1. Tap Mobile Data Options.

  1. Toggle the Data Roaming switch to off.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Mobile Data icon to toggle data off/on.

  2. Open Settings then tap Connections.

  3. Tap Mobile Networks.

  5. Select Disable to turn off Data Roaming.

Turning Off Data Usage for the BART App While Traveling

  1. Open the Settings app.

3. Scroll down to the list of apps to find BART.

  1. Toggle off the switch next to the BART app to restrict from using mobile data.
