Estimated Time of Arrival
Estimated Time of Arrival
What does ETA mean in BART?
When you respond to a broadcast with your attendance, BART is able to make calculations on how much time it will take you to get to local headquarters (LHQ) or the incident from your current location. This information is extremely useful for quickly building a team for a faster response.
Please Note: For your ETA to be calculated accurately, you must have location services enabled on your device for the BART Team App.
Some people get worried that your team can see your location when responding to a broadcast, but I can assure you they can't unless you actually share your location. Authorised users are only provided with an estimated number of minutes until your arrival.
Set your Default ETA
You may find that the estimated time of arrival to LHQ isn't quite accurate enough, as it doesn't take into account those few minutes you take to pack and prepare before making your way there. This option is completely voluntary, so only set your default ETA when required.
To set your default ETA:
1. Tap on the 'quick options' button at the top of the screen
2. A popup will appear
3. You will see two blue buttons next to the 'Default ETA' option, which allows you to increase or decrease the time in minutes
4. Adjust the time as required
