My Member has 'create' and 'send' permissions, but still can't send Broadcasts
Problem
I'm an Administrator for my group and have given a member 'Create' and 'Send' permissions, however they still can't send a Broadcast.
Solution
As an administrator, you’re required to complete a 2-step process in order to give your members permission to create and send messages.
STEP 1
- Log into the BART Members area: https://bartapp.net/webapp
- Navigate to the ‘Administration > Users’ item in the main menu
- Click on the ‘Edit’ icon next to the user you wish to change permissions for
- The ‘Details’ tab will be open by default; click on the ‘Permissions’ tab at the top of the screen
- Under the heading ‘User Permissions’, check the tick box next to ‘Create + Send Message’
STEP 2
- Navigate to the ‘Administration > User Broadcast Tags’ item in the main menu
- A list of Broadcast Tags will display
- Choose the Broadcast Tag that you would like to enable for your member(s)
- Click on the ‘Edit’ icon next to the Broadcast Tag name
- Choose the member(s) that you would like to enable access for
- Ensure the checkbox below the ‘Access’ column is ticked for each of your chosen members
- Click on the ‘Save’ button at the top of the screen
Please note:
You also have the opportunity to enable options for sending and receiving notifications for:
- SMS
- App Notifications
Options include:
- None
- Non-Alert Only
- Alert Only
- All Messages
STEP 3
- On your device, go to:
Settings > Apps > Advanced > Ignore Battery Optimisations - Find BART and ‘ignore it’
Please note: the wording is a little misleading; ‘ignoring’ the app actually means allowing it to run, as you’re telling the battery optimisation function to ignore BART. For more info on this function, checkout this article
- Go to:
Setting > Notification Panel & Status Bar > Notification Centre - Find BART and activate
‘allow notifications’ and
‘priority display’ - Lock the BART app in the ‘recent apps overview’ panel
- Open BART
- Hit the square ‘app overview’ button on the navigation bar
- Pull down on that app to lock it into place
